About GPC & Coaching
We offer youth baseball players the opportunity to join a team entirely composed of guest players and play in tournaments when they have an off weekend. Whether you're looking to get extra practice, have fun, improve your skills, play with friends, or make entirely new friends, we provide the perfect opportunity.
Guest Player Connect is unique in its focus on providing flexible, fun, and supportive playing opportunities for all skill levels. We emphasize equal play, skill development, and the joy of the game rather than just winning. We’re also family-based and deeply understand the needs of both players and parents.
Our coaches are paid professionals with baseball experience, either as players or coaches. This ensures unbiased decisions and a focus on skill development. While some coaches may also be parents, they are not coaching their own children to maintain fairness.
Yes, all our coaches undergo background checks to ensure a safe and positive environment for all players. We take the safety and well-being of your children very seriously.
Our coaches are experienced professionals with a background in baseball, either as players or coaches. They are passionate about the game and focus on creating a positive, developmental environment for all players.
Coaches are assigned to teams based on their experience, availability, and familiarity with the age group they are coaching. We carefully match coaches to ensure they can provide the best support and guidance for each team.
Yes! We’re always looking for passionate and qualified individuals to join our coaching team. If you’re a parent, you are welcome to apply, but please note that we do not assign parents to coach their own child’s team to maintain fairness.
We are looking for coaches who:
- Have most weekends available, including both Saturday and Sunday.
- Are available during the summer months.
- Are willing to travel for overnight stays, ranging from 1 to 7 nights, depending on the tournament schedule.
- Played baseball in high school or higher, preferably at the college level.
- Are passionate about teaching and fostering a positive environment.
This is an ideal opportunity for college students who are not currently playing baseball but have played in the past, educators with summers and weekends off, or professionals with flexible schedules during these times.
If this sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you! Apply online here.
Registration and Participation
Simply browse our list of upcoming tournaments, choose the event that fits your schedule, and sign up. You’ll select your child’s position(s) and the appropriate skill level during registration. View our list of tournaments here.
When determining your child’s skill level, consider their experience, performance, and overall ability. We use a scale from 1-5:
- Level 1 (Beginner): New to the game, learning basic skills.
- Level 2 (Developing): Understands core skills, needs consistency.
- Level 3 (Intermediate): Solid skills, some tournament experience.
- Level 4 (Advanced): Strong technical skills, competitive experience.
- Level 5 (Elite): Excels in all areas, high-level performance. It’s important to be honest about their abilities to ensure they are placed in the right environment for growth and enjoyment.
Yes, we offer three types of tournaments:
- Open Tournaments: For players of all skill levels, ideal for those who just want to play for fun and enjoy a mix of competition.
- Minors Tournaments: For players with a skill level of 1-3, focusing on newer or developing players.
- Majors Tournaments: For players with a skill level of 3-5, designed for more experienced and advanced competitors.
Yes! If your child and their friends sign up for the same tournament and are of similar skill levels, they will be placed on the same team to enjoy the experience together.
Yes, if you have a full team, you can sign them all up to participate in the tournament together. Additionally, there is a 15% discount if you register a full team.
Once you sign your player up, you’ll receive a confirmation email with the next steps. As the tournament date approaches, we’ll send you all the important details, including the game schedule, coach contact information, and when and where to pick up uniforms.
Schedules are typically provided 3-5 days before the tournament, depending on when the host releases them. Rest assured, we’ll keep you informed every step of the way to ensure a smooth and exciting tournament experience! More on How It Works.
Your child will meet their coach and new teammates, receive a Guest Player Connect hat and jersey, warm up, and play in competitive games. Every player gets equal playing time, and standout performers are recognized with MVP awards at the end of the tournament.

We review the skill levels provided during registration to place players on appropriate teams. This ensures balanced competition and minimizes the risk of injury. Our impartial coaches also play a crucial role in maintaining a positive, supportive, and fair environment.
Absolutely! Guest Player Connect is designed for players of all skill levels, including those who may not be on competitive teams. Our goal is to provide every child with the opportunity to play, grow, and have fun.
We form teams based on the age divisions set by the tournament host. For indoor tournaments, some facilities may not allow 12U players due to the size of the facility, fields, and players. If you don’t see a 12U team listed, it’s likely because the tournament doesn’t offer that division or due to these facility restrictions.
Indoor winter tournaments typically don’t offer divisions beyond 12U because the players are too big to hit baseballs safely inside, and the fields are too small to accommodate them. Additionally, we focus on tournaments where there is the most interest and where we can form competitive teams. If a 13U or higher division is missing, it’s likely due to these factors or the tournament’s specific age restrictions.
We are currently gauging interest in forming teams for the 15U+ age groups. It can be challenging during the spring season due to high school baseball commitments, but we’re open to exploring opportunities if there’s enough interest. If you or someone you know is interested, let us know, and we’ll work to make it happen!

Teams and Gameplay
Players sign up for a team during registration, and that is the team they will play on. We carefully consider skill levels to ensure teams are balanced and competitive. If we believe the tournament may be too advanced for a player based on their skill level, we will reach out to the parents to discuss options. More on our refund policy here.
Players are given priority at the position they signed up and paid for. We also consider the primary and secondary positions entered during registration to help move players around as needed. For 11U and under, all players will rotate and spend time in the outfield to ensure well-rounded development. For 12U and up, players will primarily play their chosen positions, but they may also play the outfield from time to time. While we aim to rotate players for experience, positions outside of the one they signed up for are not guaranteed.
During pool play, we rotate players more frequently to assess their capabilities and give everyone opportunities. In playoffs or elimination games, we focus on strategy to stay competitive and extend the weekend by playing additional games. Our goal is to balance development, fairness, and team success while ensuring every player gets meaningful playing time.
Pitching is not guaranteed and is ultimately up to the coach to ensure the team remains competitive while also balancing development, experience growth, and fun. Pitching decisions are based on the player’s pitching experience, skill level, and overall game strategy. We also consider pitch count limits to protect players' arms. Parents who filled out the Pitching Questionnaire during registration have already provided important information to help guide these decisions. If your player is interested in pitching and you haven’t completed the questionnaire, please let us know, but final decisions will be made by the coach based on what is best for the team.
Equal and fair playing time means each player gets the same opportunity to be on the field, not necessarily playing every position. We focus on ensuring every player gets an equal number of innings, ideally at least 4 innings in a 6-inning game. While we do our best to make this happen, some positions require specific skills or experience to prioritize safety and player development.
If your player is interested in a particular position, let the coach know, and we will consider it for future games.
We offer tournaments for different skill levels, so sign up for the one that’s appropriate for your child. In Open Tournaments, where players of all levels compete, our coaches focus on ensuring that every player has a positive experience, regardless of their skill level.
The roster size is 12 players per team. We also focus on ensuring that we have enough pitching for the tournament to keep the team competitive and prepared.
We don’t know. All players are guest players, and the teams are composed of players who may not have played together before. No one should sign up expecting to win or focus on winning or championships. The focus is on enjoying watching your child play the game they love.
